Survey on the uptake of Green Public Procurement in the 27 Member States

The survey is open until 7 October 2011.

If your organisation is doing public procurement, the European Commission is inviting you to take part in its survey on the uptake of Green Public Procurement (GPP) in the 27 EU Member States.
In 2008, the European Commission adopted its Communication
“Public procurement for a better environment” which set an indicative target that, by 2010, 50% of all public tendering procedures should be green. To measure the achievement of this target, the European Commission is now looking at the level of uptake of GPP for the following 10 product and service groups:

1. Cleaning
2. Construction
3. Electricity
4. Catering and Food
5. Gardening
6. Office IT equipment
7. Copying and graphic paper
8. Textiles
9. Transport
10. Furniture

A questionnaire to be filled in by public procurers in the 27 EU Member States has been drafted in order to gather information if and how green elements are included in public procurement procedures. A strong participation of public authorities throughout Europe will be essential for achieving robust results.

Therefore, if you have purchased, in a public procurement procedure in the years 2009 or 2010, products or services included in the list above, your input would be most appreciated. All data will be treated confidentially.

The results will be presented in a report at the end of 2011. This report will feed into the process of deciding on future steps in EU GPP policies.

The questionnaire, in 22 EU languages, can be found on the website of CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) which is conducting this survey. For further questions, please contact Mr. Can Selcuki (can.selcuki@ceps.eu) at CEPS.

Thank you very much for your participation!
