Requirements for UE01 are:

  • the rest should be generated from CHP
  • at least 25 % expansion of the renewable energy plants
  • generation and consumption at the same time

  • the rest should be generated from CHP
  • expansion of capacity is optional
  • the energy sources should be identified and clearly indicated

Relevance on the market

The criteria are relatively low compared with other labels for Green Power. The requirements of UE01 contains the investment of 25 % of the revenue in new renewable power plants but an improvement beyond the regulation of REL could not be guaranteed. The electricity is partly generated from renewable energy sources but the sources are not specified. With both labels the generation from e.g. water plants that have been criticised is not limited.
