http://www.centopercentoverde.org
Target
- environmental target: use of admitted energy sources in energy production
- product group: energy from RES, products realised with 100 % green energy, traders or distributors which are involved in the trade of RECS certificates
Product/service group
The certification in Italy is issued for energy produced from wind, PV, solar thermal, geothermal, sustainable hydro, tidal & waves, biogas and sustainable biomass & bio-fuel plants. The certificate does not cover energy from fossil fuels, nuclear and thermal transformation of solid urban wastes. Nevertheless it is admitted to yield the 20 % of the energy production from water pumping and non-sustainable hydro.
The label is issued to:
- producers: for total certification of their electric energy production or for a partial certification in case only a portion of the total electric energy production is considered or a production site is addressed
- producers’ associations: association of electric energy producers having at least 50 % of power plants with green energy
- commercial customers: commercial subjects that buy green energy for their use from Producers or Traders having obtained the label. Customers can have a partial or total certification for their manufacturing sites which use or products or services made through the use of green electricity
- domestic customers: consumers which use green electricity for non-commercial uses and buy it from Producers or Traders having obtained the label. Simplified rules and procedures as well as special tariffs are forecast for this category
- traders and distributors: when purchasing green electricity for at least 2 % of the total sales volume from producers having obtained the label
Relevance
EU/international and national voluntary label.
The label "100% energia verde" has international value and is based on
the RECS (Renewable Energy Certificate System) certificates, which
guarantee the renewable source of the energy. The label qualifies
energy producers and traders and customers for their commitment towards
the environment and is aimed at the creation of a voluntary market
system to improve the production of energy from RES.
